How it works
Drop-off
1. Book & pay online
Book and pay for your parking spot online.
2. Follow the pink signs
Follow the pink signs when you get to the airport and park your vehicle at the Lock n’ Fly drop-off/pick-up yard.
3. Self check-in
Go to the self check-in area in the airport terminal and fill out your details on one of the brown envelopes.
4. Take your PIN
Remove the white card and take it with you. Keep it safe as it has your PIN.
5. Leave your keys
Place your keys in the envelope and deposit it in the drop box so we can move your car across to our secure yard.
You’re all done,
go catch your flight!
Pick-up
1. Find your locker
Look up your name on the list above the lockers, this will tell you which locker your keys are in.
2. Retrieve your keys
Open your locker using the pin from the white card and grab your keys.
You’re good to go!
Return to the drop-off/pick-up yard and your car will be waiting for you.

Lock n' Fly FAQs
What are the parking rates and charges?
Secure overnight parking with Lock n’ Fly costs $15 for the first night, $10 per night up to 5 nights, then $7 per night thereafter. The total costs are calculated automatically when you book online.
Where do I find the Lock n’ Fly yard?
When you get to Whangarei Airport, follow the bright pink signs. Turn left before the terminal entry doors and park at the end of the laneway (Dakota Lane). There are lots of pink signs to guide you to our yard.
Do I leave my keys?
Yes! After parking in the drop off yard, you leave your keys in an envelope that you then deposit in the drop box inside the airport terminal.
Where does my car go while I’m away?
Our team visit the airport during the day to move cars in and out of our secure yard, which is located at the airport. That’s why it’s important that you leave us the keys
What are your operating hours?
The Lock n’ Fly drop-off and collection yard is open daily from 5am until 10pm.
Can I leave my keys for someone else to collect?
Yes, you can. Just provide their information when you book and write it on the envelope when dropping off your keys. Making sure keys are dropped off before 8am for key collections up to 3pm, alternatively drop off keys by 2pm for key collections up to 8pm. This is because the team aren’t at the airport full time and to ensure we can allocate keys into a locker for collection, also follow up with an email to book@locknfly.co.nz so we can update the team on duty.
Can I pick up my car earlier than I originally booked?
Yes, that is possible, but we ask that you please provide 24 hours’ notice as we aren’t always at the airport. If your arrival is less than 24 hours, please email AND call us on 09 436 4081.
NOTE: If a callout is required due to communication received at a time our team isn’t onsite, then a callout fee of up to $75 may apply.
