Need to know before you fly

Where is Lock n Fly located?

As you drive into the airport towards the terminal, keep a lookout for the bright pink signs. Turn left just before you reach the terminal entry doors and park your vehicle at the end of Dakota Lane. We’re hard to miss with all the pink signs that are there to guide you. You can also view this helpful video which is full of tips and explains the entire process.

It’s not far at all. The distance is almost the same as if you would park in the public airport carpark. If you have lots of luggage, it’s an idea to drop this off at the terminal first, then circle around and park in our yard.

Yes! After parking in the drop off yard, we ask you to put your keys in a provided envelope, fill out your details, tear off the white card with your PIN number on it (and keep it safe), then place the envelope in the drop box inside the terminal.

Our team visit the airport during the day to move cars in and out of our secure yard, which is located at the airport.

If customers don’t leave their keys we aren’t able to move cars into our secure yard, which blocks up the drop off / pick up yard and effects our ability to provide our service to customers. Please urgently call us on 09 436 4081. In some cases, if keys cant be supplied within a day, we may need to tow your car at a cost of $150, which is at the customers cost.

Yes, you can. Just provide their information when you book and write it on the envelope when dropping off your keys.  Making sure keys are dropped off before 8am for key collections up to 3pm, alternatively drop off keys by 2pm for key collections up to 8pm. This is because the team aren’t at the airport full time and to ensure we can allocate keys into a locker for collection, also follow up with an email to book@locknfly.co.nz so we can update the team on duty

Always ensure the flight is going ahead before dropping keys into the drop box. In the case of bad weather, we suggest waiting until the flight is confirmed as departing.

The online booking confirms a spot at our secure carparking service on the days required. When you complete the envelope at the terminal, it provides us with your keys and also gives our customers to opportunity to make changes to their booking if needed.

Secure overnight parking with Lock n’ Fly costs $15 for the first night, $10 per night up to 5 nights, then $7 per night thereafter. The total costs are calculated automatically when you book online.

You can book and pay here with a credit / debit card. If pre-agreed, please email us your contact details, flight details and intention to pay with cash. Just leave the correct cash in the envelope when you drop off your keys. You can also pay via online banking using Lock n Fly Whangarei 38-9023-0447148-03 – please email us your contact details, flight details and intention to pay via bank transfer. Please ensure you note payment version on your envelope when dropping off your keys.

If the number of nights is the same, just email us to update your booking. Alternatively just note the updated travel times on your envelope.  No additional fees apply.

If a flight is cancelled and Air NZ puts customers on buses, the terminal/yard will be open for collection until after the bus arrives. If you decide to drive up using a rental car service, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to retrieve your keys from the lockers if the bus arrives earlier and Air NZ closes the terminal.
